Dalai Lama Event Media/Press Accreditation Instructions

Please read the following paragraphs carefully before sending in this application. Applications submitted without all required items or incompletely filled out will not be accepted.
Please submit one application per person to be assigned (limited to one reporter and one photographer). Those requesting media credentials must be currently employed by a publication or news organization. We will not issue credentials to sales/advertising personnel, publishers/associate publishers, or PR/technical staff from any organization. Forms submitted after the April 22, 2011 deadline will not be accepted.
Requests for Press Accreditation must be returned with the following information:
- An assignment letter on company letterhead from an editor, producer, or program director that states the intention to publish/air your report(s).
- Two by-line articles/transcripts/tapes covering an event in 2011.
- A recent copy of your publication or program sample pages from your website.
- A passport sized e-mailed jpeg, gif, or tif, ONLY, photograph of the reporter/photographer with name or outlet listed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Your social security number (required by the State Department).
For us to consider your request, you MUST submit all supporting documentation (no exceptions). Incomplete forms will be returned.
A confirmation letter will be e-mailed or faxed to you. This letter, along with additional identification will be required when picking up your credentials at the media entrance of Bud Walton Arena the day of the event.

Media personnel attending events with His Holiness the Dalai Lama at the University of Arkansas on Wednesday, May 11, are advised to keep in mind several important security details.
Entry: A press pass is required for admission to each event at Bud Walton Arena. Doors open at 7 a.m. for the morning session and at 12 p.m. for the afternoon session. Media should be in place and set up for each event 15 minutes prior to the start of the program being covered. All media personnel and equipment will be subject to a security search.
Please Note: Those attending both events must leave the arena after the morning session and pass through the security check again, beginning at noon, for the afternoon address. All equipment, including cameras and any computers, will be required to remain in the arena between events. University of Arkansas Police will be on had to make sure the items are secure between events.
All cell phones must be turned off during all events. An area south of the arena will be provided for any media bringing a satellite truck. Other news media personnel, including print and Web-based media will be able to park in Lot 56 located at the corner of Razorback Road and Martin Luther King Blvd.
